PS3 issues.

i totally forgot to reply to all who gave info or direction to help me with this stupid issue- something i should have done from the start was call SONY!
spoke with a cust serv rep and he had me do a few things then after a few tries without getting internet connection .... EVEN though i have my system WIRED he told me i should go into my router and check and/or add these numbers.
Ports
TCP 80 443 465 983 5223
everything needs to be 10,070 - 10,080
all need to be open
UDP 3478 3479 3658
10,070
i have no idea what all that means- my companies IT guy remotely helped me enter these on my router....
I HAVE NOT HAD ONE PROBLEM SINCE SETTING UP THESE NUMBERS!!!!!!!
no more freezing during game updates
no more freezing during downloads
no more RANDOM signing out of the PS network!
:banger:

i guess this thread can be changed to SOLVED!!!!!!!!

Dam ports...Patrick above had your answer it seems.

Surprised you lasted that long. I would have called day 1. I hate when I spend alot of money on somthing and it doesnt work as it should.

yep, what he said is what the sony rep was trying to find out but my stupid system couldn't even get passed the internet connection test!
plus your suggestion of call sony ....which i should have done since day #1 was good help also. what i don't understand is how the xbox worked fine without any issues downloading or any interruption logged into XBL, but the PS3 was forever giving me a hard time?!?!

Not sure technically, probably just designed differently for that part of the console. 360 does look at NAT settings too from the router though, cause a few games Ive seen have that status shown in the menu screen to help you get the best connections possible, just dont know how it differs from PS3.

Die For Me
Just jumping in here, my controller seems have gone stupid for no apparent reason.
The left stick is constantly moving left and back, while the right stick is constantly moving down.
I am touching nothing in Borderlands 2 and my character is walking backwards looking at the ground.
Navigating menus there can be trouble too with moving the wrong way or not at all.
Again, I have no idea what happened, it was working fine one minute and now this.
Any advice?

ed: a couple of hours later it appears to have fixed itself. Ok then.

Might have build up inside causing it to sit slightly off center. Jerking the stick around quickly might fix it, if it happens again.
